Clematis “Niobe” produces richly colored flowers which emerge as a true red, then fade to a light maroon.
The blooms appear in May and last for several weeks.
It grows up to 8-10 feet tall and prefers full sun, but will tolerate some shade.
Like all clematis, it likes cool roots, so keep it happy by adding a layer of mulch.
It belongs to pruning group 2, which means you only need to trim out dead branches.
