Redbud ‘Forest Pansy’
If you like the standard Eastern Redbuds then you will love Forest Pansy!
In early spring, before the leaves come out, the branches are covered with the familiar magenta colored flowers for about 2 weeks.
The foliage comes out a rich maroon color, and transitions to dark purple that lasts for months.
During the heat of summer the leaf color is a mixed dark green/purple.
It grows up to 20 feet tall and 25 feet wide.
The color is best in full sun, though it will grow in part shade.
Hardy in zones 5-9.
