Willow ‘Yellow Flame’

Willow ‘Yellow Flame’ provides a splash of color in the winter, especially striking with a backdrop of dark evergreens.

In the summer the light yellow stems contrast nicely with the elongated green leaves, but by late Autumn the leaves are gone and the branches have turned to a darker golden yellow.

Left to itself it will grow to be a large bush of 12 feet, so it is important to prune it to within a foot of the ground in the early spring. This forces new growth to fill out the shrub which keeps the winter show bright.

It likes full sun or light shade.

*Note: Do not plant any type of willow near septic or water lines.  Wandering roots can cause damage.
