Rhododendron ‘Nova Zembla’

This rhododendron produces large red-magenta flowers in late spring.

Grows best in part shade, or nearly full shade, but will be denser with a few hours of sun each day.

It can reach 5-8 feet tall and wide, but is easily kept smaller by pruning it back right after the flowers are done.

As with all Rhododendrons, it likes acidic well drained soil. Its list of features also includes, deer resistance, extreme cold hardiness, attracts butterflies, and is evergreen.
