Butterfly Bush ‘Royal Red’ is a reliable producer of 3-8 inch long flowers with a wonderful fragrance! Blooms appear in early summer and continue well into fall. It attracts butterflies like crazy!

Royal Red isn’t truly “red” but more of a magenta/purple color.  Left to itself it will grow up to 6-8 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide, but is easily kept shorter by pruning to within 1 or 2 feet of the ground in early spring before it starts growing.

They are not picky about soil types, but prefer full sun or part shade.
