Peony ‘Shirley Temple’
This beautiful peony features large 5-7 inch wide flowers made up of masses of ruffled petals which start out with a blush of pink and then age to white.
The show lasts for about 2 weeks in mid to late spring.
Its dark green foliage provides a nice contrasting backdrop, forming a rather bush-like plant 2-3 feet tall and wide.
It grows best when they are in full to part sun.
Due to the weight of the flowers it may be helpful to give them some support, like short cage or tying a loop of twine around the plant to help hold everything together.
Peonies are long lived too, returning every year for 50 years or more!
Hardy in zones 3-8
