Bush Clover ‘Little Volcano’

This unusual semi-woody shrub puts on a beautiful display of rich pink, pea-flower shaped blooms from late summer into fall. It is quite vigorous, growing with gracefully arching branches 3-6 feet tall and spreading out 6-10 feet, however with mild winters it acts as a deciduous bush, but with a harsh winter it tends to die back to the ground. That is no problem though. Some gardeners cut the plant back in late fall or early spring anyway and it bounces right back. They grow fine in average soils, as long as they drain well, preferring to be in full sun to part shade. These are quite easy to grow and are typically not bothered by insects or disease. Little Volcano does not produce seed so it is not invasive like some of its relatives. Hardy in zones 6-10.
