Alyssum ‘Summit Golden Yellow’
Alyssum ‘Summit Golden Yellow’
Also known as Basket-of-Gold, these compact spring blooming perennials put on a blazing show of rich yellow flowers from mid to late spring.
The grey/green foliage forms a low mound with the flowers on lots of short stems up to 8 inches high above it.
It typically spreads out to 1 to 2 feet wide.
After the flower show is done trim the plants back by half to tidy them up.
Plant it in an area where the soil is rather average, well drained, or even a little rocky or sandy.
Normally it is a full sun plant, but with our hot summers it may appreciate some afternoon shade.
Hardy in zones 4-7.
