Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’

Happy in shade gardens, this lovely perennial features rounded heart shaped leaves in a warm shade of green overlaid with frosty white, except for the veins of the leaf which maintain their green color along with the outer edge. The leaves form a tight clump, similar to a Hosta plant, spreading via creeping rhizomes reaching 12-18 inches wide. From mid to late spring, clusters of tiny, sky blue flowers appear on slender stems up to 18 inches high. They grow best in organically rich, moist soils similar to that of woodland areas and prefer part shade to full shade. Hardy in zones 3-8.
