Pineapple Sage

Pineapple Sage puts on a stunning show of bright red flowers from late summer into fall. The edible leaves produce a pineapple fragrance when brushed or rustled, and make an excellent garnish on dishes.

It grows 4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide and likes full sun.

It is a little slow to start growing in the spring but takes off during the heat of summer. It is native to much warmer areas, and as a result it is borderline for our winter hardiness zone, so it is best to mulch around the plant in the fall to give it the best chance to survive.

Plant mums in front of the sage and they will combine for a beautiful splash of fall color.
